Our life is full of joys as well as sorrows. Difficulties and problems come to us throughout our lives, but do you ever ask yourself; How does God help me in my difficult times?
If your answer is yes, here is how.
God has promised never to leave us in difficulties or forsake us. What does this mean? It means that when things are difficult, we must remember to trust in Him because He can do whatever is essential and will help us.
Sometimes, we forget that God is our strength, helper, and sustainer when dealing with difficult times.
However, God is always with us in all circumstances and situations of our life. It is evident because we can find them in the scriptures.
In Philippians 4:13, we can read that God is the one who gives us strength.
In 1 Corinthians 10:13, Paul tells us that God does not allow us to be tested beyond what we can bear while He will provide the way for it. In this way, we can hope that He will help us in any situation.
Understanding how we get help from God when in trouble or a difficult situation can help us live with joy and peace.
I will explain some ways in which God helps us. Read on to learn more about them.
What Does God Say About Helping in Difficult Times?
God uses difficult times to shape us and make us more like Christ.
We can understand that God is there in every difficult time and helps us because the Bible says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
The Lord allowed those challenging hours, days, and years to turn you into the person He wants you to become.
God says that we are His masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10), and we are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
It means that God has a plan for us, and challenging times can make us into beautiful persons of character and integrity.
God's plan is not always going to be easy or comfortable. Often, it includes trials and pain. God is still on His throne. He doesn't lose control when life gets complicated.
We may not understand His plans in a bit of time (Isaiah 55:8), but we know, He loves us and has a perfect plan for our lives if we trust Him (Jeremiah 29:11).
How Do You Know that God Helps in Your Difficulties?
If you are going through a difficult time and feel like God is not there, He is.
He is there, waiting to comfort you and help you get through whatever you are going through.
Psalm 145:13 says that you can see that God keeps his promise because He is entirely trustworthy and gracious.
The Bible also gives us a lot of promises about how we can count on God, who is there for us when we go through difficult times.
God will never leave us alone or abandon us. Isaiah 41:10 explains that you don't need to fear because God is with you to strengthen and help you with His righteous right hand.
I hope it clarifies that God is in your difficult times to help, whether you believe it or not because He keeps his promise to save you from anything that comes against us.
Here are some ways to show you that God helps us in times of trouble.
Ways That God Helps Us in Difficult Times
God helps us in times of difficulty in various ways for every person. God may help you come to terms with what is happening.
- God may comfort you or give you strength.
- He may give you a song or a scripture verse to lift your spirit.
- He may also surround you with caring friends and family who strengthen and uplift you.
- He may send someone to say the right word at the right time.
- He may give you people who can be willing to listen when others don't have time.
- He may help you find peace and comfort amidst your chaotic feelings while dealing with a challenging situation.
God may even take away your difficult circumstances if that is the best thing for you and your relationship with Him.
God is there for us during our troubles, but we must remember that He sees the bigger picture even when we cannot see it ourselves.
Our life here is temporary, but eternity is forever, and we must make sure we are ready for eternity by having a close relationship with Jesus Christ and by doing His will for us.
However, It is difficult, but we can rest because God loves us, and He can help us in any situation that comes to us.
Here are eight different explanations showing how God helps us in difficult times.
1. God Gives Strength
We all face difficult times when we feel weak and unable to get through the day.
Those are times in our lives when we all need a little help.
God gives us strength to overcome, but it is up to us to allow Him to help us and take His hand.
He will never force us to accept His assistance in any way, we have free will, and it is our choice whether or not we will take the time out of our busy schedule to pray to Him and ask for help.
He is always there waiting for us.
A solid belief in God that helps us in a problematic situation gives us the strength to move forward.
Remember that no one in this world is perfect; everyone has trials and tribulations. Just keep your faith and trust in God, for he knows what he is doing.
The good news is that God has promised, that He will provide strength to endure what these trials may throw at us.
He promises a way out in 1 Corinthians 10:13. God is always faithful in his promises because He will not give any difficulties beyond, and He is there to provide a way to face them.
Besides, He promises strength from his presence within us, as mentioned in Philippians 4:13.
Takeaway: It is important to remember that God is still there for us in times of distress and uncertainty.
2. God Gives Us Hope
We may say God is our hope! That's true.
He is the one who gives us inspiration and strength to face the challenges in our lives.
His love and compassion give us the courage to keep moving forward despite everything.
He wants us all to be happy, so he gave us this incredible gift called life!
To understand why God gives us hope, we must first understand what hope is. Hope is not only a feeling of expectation but also an action.
It means looking forward with uncertainty or expectation about something good happening soon.
When someone says "I hope…" that person expresses faith in God's promises for their future!
Sometimes we may face an impossible situation, but nothing is impossible with God. He can turn any trouble around for His glory and your good.
Jesus told us not to worry about tomorrow because we have enough trouble for today (Matthew 6:34).
Therefore, instead of worrying about what might happen tomorrow, we should trust the Lord, who is the giver of hope and the sustainer of life.
The Bible tells us that Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33), and if you know Him as your Savior, you are an overcomer (1 John 5:4). Our victory does not come from within ourselves but through faith in Jesus Christ.
No matter how great or small our circumstances may be, there is always hope with God!
If we struggle, God offers us hope for tomorrow and the strength to carry on today.
Takeaway: There is always hope to beat the odds!
3. God Gives Us Inner Peace to Understand the Difficulties
Inner peace is a great gift from God.
That peace also helps us understand the difficult situation and take suitable action.
We all have that time when we can't understand the situation.
In that time, if we pray to God, he gives us inner peace to understand the situation and do the right thing; in other words, we can say that we can take suitable action.
But sometimes can not understand the situation because of our negative thoughts and emotions.
However, God has given us the ability to understand our difficult situations.
He gives us peace in the midst of them. The relaxation will help us through them and give us the wisdom to know what to do.
Philippians 4:7 tells us, "the peace of God, which can transcend all our understandings, and it can guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
It means that God's presence can give us peace in difficulties.
The best way to get through difficult times is not by watching others have success or good times but rather by being thankful for what God has given us.
He has given each other and his love to help us through the hard times.
We always remember that "God is always with us"; this will change your mind from negative to positive.
It will help you understand how God enables you to get inner peace in difficult times.
4. God Removes Our Burdens
If we think about how God helps us in difficult situations, God removes our burdens.
Sometimes you may worry about overcoming that difficulty, but suddenly it may disappear because God makes it.
God has a remarkable way of removing things from our lives when the time is right.
Sometimes those things are burdens we couldn't carry on our own, and other times they are habits, addictions, and vices that we didn't even know were there!
But eventually, God will remove them all.
The Bible says God is our refuge and strength, and He is present everywhere to help us in trouble. Therefore we do not need to fear.
We can put our faith and trust in Him because He is faithful and will never let us down.
If you have been trying to get rid of something in your life for a long time only to find yourself failing again and again, turn to God, who will help you succeed where you could not do anything.
So, if you face any problem, don't worry; pray to God and leave it to him; he will solve your problem as soon as possible.
Remember, when you pray for something, don't forget to thank him for what he has done for you.
5. God Helps Us to Be Calm
Many times in life, we face situations that seem to be beyond our control. A particular case may be causing us to lose sleep and face anxiety over the outcome.
God is always with us, even in those times. He knows what we need and wants so that we can be sure; he will help us be calm in our difficult times.
We may have to wait a little more until we understand how important it is to be calm in difficult times.
Sometimes we will see that God has already shown us calm when those situations come. But other times, it takes longer for us to understand being quiet during the challenging moments of life.
In such times, we can always pray to God for guidance & help and trust that He will help us through the situation.
Maybe you are going through a tough time right now and looking for a way to be calm in your difficult time. You can do two things:
- Ask God to help you find a way of being calm during your difficult moments.
- Keep your faith alive, and know that God will help you find a way of being calm during your difficult moments.
6. God Comforts Us Through People
When we go through a difficult situation, sadness may overwhelm us.
We may even think, "Where is God? Why doesn't He bring me out of this pain?"
Then we realize that God is helping us through people especially. We see them as angels who comfort us and make us feel better.
God gives us people to help us. It can be highly comforting as you know you are not alone in your struggle.
Sometimes friends, family, or unknown people will come alongside you and help you through a difficult time with words of encouragement, strength, or practical help.
We should understand that God can put the right people in our lives at the right time. He knows what we need even before we ask Him for it.
Sometimes God also helps by providing answers that we did not expect. These answers can be surprising, but they are always what we need.
7. God Teaches us Valuable Life Lessons
We can sometimes go through many hard times and wonder why God would allow such bad things to happen.
But we must remember that God works everything for good for those who love Him.
Significantly, God uses these hard times to shape us into better people.
He is always there with us in the midst of our pain and suffering, wanting to help us grow closer to Him if we allow Him to do so.
God's desire is for us to trust him more than we already do and rely on his strength instead of our own.
God doesn't always give us the life we want; He provides us with our needs.
Sometimes the lessons are tough to learn, but they are more manageable if we consider that God doesn't put more on us than we can bear.
The hardest thing to learn is what to do with our lives as they unfold.
Most of the time, we may find that we see God teaching us valuable life lessons in our difficult times.
Here are some of the things He may be trying to teach you in those situations:
- You may learn how to rely on Him more than yourself.
- He may be trying to teach you patience and endurance in a difficult situation.
- He may be trying to guide you to trust Him more than anyone else.
- He may be leading you to what matters in life.
- He may teach you forgiveness and compassion for others who have hurt you.
- He may be teaching you what true humility is and dependence on Him for strength and help.
- He may be trying to teach you not to worry about tomorrow but to trust Him with your today and your future.
8. God Helps Us in Difficult Times by Bringing New Things
Sometimes in life, we go through situations that seem overwhelming.
It is easy to give up hope and think God has forgotten us in difficult times, but when we are at our lowest point, God wants to do something new in our lives.
We need to remember that God is always with us. He can help us in difficult times by bringing new things our way.
There is nothing God cannot do. He is our deliverer and provider. We are created in His image and likeness, so we can do all things through Him who strengthens us.
It is true, but it's hard to see what God does while suffering.
But one thing that we can know for sure is that God is always at work to create new things for us.
Isaiah 43:19 says, "Behold, and He can make new things" It specifies that we need to behold because we may see new things happen around us to make new ways, even in a difficult situation.
It means that whether you're going through a job loss, a health challenge, or another difficult situation, there are often blessings and new opportunities in disguise from God. It's up to us to spot them.
So, whatever situation you face today, don't worry; God is with you!
Final Thoughts
There is no doubt that our lives can be challenging at times. At the same time, many people can turn to us for help because God is always there to assist them.
We should understand that God helps us in times of difficulty differently for every person.
God may help you come to terms with what is happening. He may also guide you to change your circumstances or give you the strength and resources to carry on.
So, we can experience God's presence and help in many ways.
For example, we may find comfort and assurance in the Bible or other spiritual readings when praying, meditating, or being with nature.
Or we may find peace when talking to a friend or relative, being part of a support group, or being offered practical help.
As you think about how God helps you, you may want to change your life or circumstances to receive His graces.
You may also want to ask for God's help to cope with the situation better.
Have a great day!
